hey guys I have a few turbo questions before my dragIII kits come in (thanks ben! importparts)
I want the turbo to have minimal lag, how can this be accomplished?

I hear by making wastegate dump tube into a closed loop system this will help, is this
    true?

By upgrading the silicon hoses ( for the vac system and delta wastegate) to 6mm
tubbing will stabalize boost and help lag and boost creep?

I have a after market ignition system Aceel thundersport and I plan on setting the rev
limiter to 6500rpm, what should I gap the plugs at (I will be using plugs 2 heat ranges
lower)and what timming should it be set at stock or -2 stock?

I plan on upgrading the exhaust piping to 2.5" with a high flow cat I have also heard
this will help with lag also, will it? I also have a straight throught exhaust.

I know the exhaust, ignition will help with power but I will probably lose some with the
    closed loop dump tube.

    thanks in advance guys.

I don't know anything about the closed loop system, why would you want hot exhaust gases dumping into your engine bay? I do know that a lighter aluminum flywheel will help spool up the turbo quicker. When the RPM's rise faster, so does exhaust flow. Hope that helped.

actually you have it backwards a open loop dumps the exhaust back into the atmosphere while in closed loop system the exhaust is route back into the exhaust system. the drag kit dumps the the wastegate exhast gases out of a dump tube into the atmosphere.

If you want to reduce lag, a couple of things you can do with your system, are go with a 3" cat, and a 3" exhaust system. You can also go with a boost controller, as this will keep the wastegate fully closed, until the preset boost is reached. You can swap your turbo out for one with a smaller AR and a different trim, and the ball bearing option.

Exhaust will definitely spool you faster; sounds like that's your main bottleneck. I can't think of ANY reason in the world that a closed-loop wastegate would spool faster. That's not going to help. Ignition probably won't make a significant difference either unless you've got some misfiring problems. Look into the cheap manual boost controllers that use a ball-spring check valve; those will supposedly make a significant improvement in spool time; likewise an electronic boost controller will do the same thing for about 10x as much money if you're into that sort of thing.
